Laying Up Supper 2015
The boats are in, the sails are folded and like old maritime tradition members of the Group gathered together for a meal to mark the end of another safe and successful season on the water.
We were welcomed by the Boatmaster who congratulated all for another great boating season which included Beaver/ Cub days, coastal expeditions, annual summer camps, weekly boating/ paddling sessions, The Big Row Home, hosting the 101st Sea Scout Rowing Regatta, our ISA Training Programme, supporting MYC Crusier Regatta and Irish Offshore Powerboat Association and the ongoing Sea Scouting competition calendar.
Truly a jam-packed summer contributing to just under 1000 hours on the water!
The evening followed with a congratulations from a sun-soaked Chief Scout Christy McCann all the way from his holidays in Spain who wished us luck with our den development project.
The Venture Scouts presented some Certificates of Appreciation to leaders and friends of the Group as a small thank you for their work in supporting the summer programme.
The evening finally concluded with a thank you presentation to the Group from our friends at 73rd Raheny Scouts for supporting their kayaking programme over the year.
Thank you to Ventures Lisa, Fiona and David who coordinated the evening.
