In Malahide we have almost 500 youth members. That takes a considerable volunteer effort but it also requires money.
The monthly subscriptions are the largest contribution to the group’s finances. The 12 Days of Christmas raffle and the Christmas tree sale also make a contribution. Thank you for that support.
Scouting in Malahide is managed through a company – meaning that there is director oversight of spending, an external audit, review by the Charities Regulator and by Scouting Ireland.
At the start of any year 75% of our spending is already committed. We still owe over €130,000 on the loan for the development of the den.
