A 100km challenge across the Irish Sea from Malahide Co. Dublin, to Holyhead Wales, in a bid to raise funds for the much needed re-development of our Scout Den!

Photo Album

After months of tidal calculations, chart plotting, logistical nightmares and hours upon hours of crew training, 26 members of Malahide Sea Scouts beat the elements and rowed from Malahide all the way to Holyhead, Wales. 100km across the Irish Sea!!

We are so very impressed at the dedication behind each and every stroke of the oar as the skiff and crews were underway for approximately 17 hours.

We had an unforgettable adventure doing what Sea Scouts do best working together to achieve an epic challenge.

The experience is something they will all share forever.

Redevelopment of our Scout Den

Our current den, completed in 1984 has served us well. But 30 years on with 600 members through its doors every week the wear and tear is becoming evident. No wheelchair access, outdated infrastructure, a leaking roof, insufficient meeting/ training space a make-over is long overdue. These funds will go towards building an extension and making the necessary improvements. The cost of the re-development is approximately €600,000. Any support in raising these funds is greatly appreciated.
