Kayak Course

The LEVEL 1 Kayak Instructor Level 3 Kayak skills course has commenced with 30 persons participating. They are made up from several groups. Malahide Sea Scouts , Dollymount Sea Scouts , Donabate Sea Scouts , Dalkey Sea Scouts and scouts from Graigueamanagh. The profile of the group is scouts aged 16 up to leaders aged 44 years.

The courses cover a wide field of requirements that need to be covered Strokes ,Techniques ,Rescues ,Theory etc.

The first part of the practical side commenced recently on the River Liffey. Assessment for this side will be later in March on the Liffey. Participants will in the coming summer months will need to log their canoeing activities.

The course leader and facilitator Robert McKernan assisted by Ivan Barret both of Malahide plan to run this course again next year
