“The Big Sleep” – Friday Night Beavers Sleepover

Beaver leader Joe Varley with his Team at the "Big Sleep"
You would have to be there to see the excitement as the Beaver scouts rolled into the den for their annual sleepover. By 12.30 pm all were checked in ,sleeping bags rolled out and ready for the Big Sleep. But more was to happen before that.
A short walk around to the railway station and by quick transport into the city by dart and a short walk up to the animal museum. After the aahs! ,oohs!! and gosh! of looking at the wonderful display in the museum , over to Merrion Square for a light picnic.
By 6pm back in Malahide for dinner a short movie and get ready for the night hike and barbeque. There’s no doubt the very active programme planned by the leaders has it’s merits when it comes to getting a night’s sleep .
By morning there is a slow start but the promise of a good breakfast and a game all are up soon .The morning finished with a presentation of badges and a clean up.

A fond farewell from the team and the Beaver Leaders to Joe
Beaver Leader Joe Varley was retiring from the team after 10 years . Joe was present at all ten sleepovers. The group and his team will miss him. A fond farewell was given by all . Joe enjoy your retirement but dont be far away .All our thanks and best wishes for the future.
