1st Place Malahide Sea Scouts Neala section for Rowing ,Grainne Lavelle Memorial Trophy

Malahide Neala troop lifted the Grainne Lavelle Memorial Trophy at the Fry Cup for top marks in the rowing section.As part of the senior seamanship competition a  practical rowing exercise takes place and the team that achieves the highest marks in this category lifts the trophy. Members of the Neala team had to negotiate a tight course within Dunlaoghaire Harbour in a east coast skiff.The exercise includes coming alongside,embarking,disembarking,steering in crowded anchorage,trailing oars,tossing oars,boat trim,boat discipline,shipping and boating oars.
