Our first solo – Monday Cubs at Jamoige 2012
” Our first solo Monday Cubs 9th Port Malahide cub camp and for Helen. Kieran and Alan their very first time camping as Leaders…A huge thank you. You were Trojan and calm in a crisis. Helen, really appreciate your help taking down the pioneering at 3am in jammies in the rain after our marquee headed west. We had it all, the fun, the sun,the rain, the wind (now I know how Dorothy felt in the Wizard of Oz…).
The cubs – what an amazing bunch of people. Happy, helpful, enthusiastic, bouncy, kind, tough and at the end of the day slept through the storm…Got up smiley, co-operative and decided in true One Programme style, along with the leaders to call it a day and head home. The loss of the marquee, soaked wet gear, wet tents, sick tummies and wet clothes was the deciding factor so it was’nt done lightly.
My most heart felt thank you to all the parents who helped with gear, the Tuesday girls who helped erect it but for above and beyond call of duty to our Monday Pack I must thank the Friday Scouts. James, Rian, Alex, Eoin and Peter, we could never have done it without you, thanks for the pioneering, putting up tents, making the cubs maltesers hot choc & marshmallows, the company, I could go on. You are all an enormous asset to this group and I hope a merit award is on the cards…. ![]()
Final thanks and well done to all the Jamóige Staff, brilliant group of people to have in your corner in a crisis. Can’t wait til next year !
