Ceadaoin Cubs Den Sleepover

Saturday 5th March 2016

On Saturday 5th of March we had our Annual Den Sleepover. We had it in Dollymount Den because our den is being renovated. We can’t wait to see what our Den looks like when it’s done! We met at 6pm.  While we waited for everyone to arrive we played outside for a while.  When everyone was there one of the leaders took us outside and we played some games.  One of the games was where you had to run around your team, who were in a circle with bananas in your armpits, when everyone in your team had run around you had to eat the bananas.  When we finished the games outside. We went inside and played Snatch the Bacon for a while.

Then we had a Talent Show. Some people played the piano and one boy even played the violin! The Talent Show was about a hour. Then we got pizza, it was so yummy! Some people got pepperoni and some people got margarita. Then we had our campfire. We sang lot’s of songs and made lot’s of noise! After we had finished the campfire we went out for a walk to get us tired and ready for bed. When we got back, we all set up our beds for the night. We all put on our pyjamas and got settled into the evening. Then we got popcorn, crisps and maltesers.  We ate these while we watched a movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.

After the movie was over we all brushed our teeth and went to bed. It was a while before anyone actually got to sleep, because everyone was talking! There wasn’t even enough room in the main hall so a lot of people were sleeping in other parts of the building, like upstairs or even the changing room! The next day we were all up early and as soon as everyone was up we started packing. Then we went out for a run because it was freezing in the hall.  When we came back we had breakfast. The cereal choices were: Cheerios or Rice Krispies. Then we got pancakes and s’mores even though it was only like 9 o’clock in the morning!

After that we went outside and had a Scavenger Hunt which was really fun. Then we played lots of games, like Rabbits and Racoons and Links. Then our parents started coming to pick us up. While our parents were picking some of the other children up, everyone else finished packing. It was a great day but we were so exhausted. We all went to bed early that night!
