90 scouts and leaders from Malahide camping at L.Dan for Founder’s Day 2012.Two very large 54 seat-er coaches pulled away early from St.James Terrace on Saturday morning full of scouts from all three sections heading to the one destination to celebrate Founder’s Day. Their destination,Lough Dan Scout campsite in the centre of the Wicklow Mountains. Up to 90 scouts and leaders travelled to the very popular site near Roundwood. On arrival tents and sites were set up and settling down for the weekend started with wide games , campcraft and hill walking into the surrounding hills and wood. The weather held up and the sparkling lake makes rising the next morning a pleasure. By noon cubs, beavers families and friends  joined the scouts to continue with the celebrations. A hike is planned for all and the cubs and beavers head up  Kanturk  and the scouts ventures tear up to the top of Scarr. The day finished with hot soup, sandwiches and a scouts own.
