Sir Willaim Fry Cup -Well Done Malahide Friday Night

The senior seamanship competition Sir William Fry Cup has been won by the Malahide Sea Scouts Friday night section for a second year in a row on last Saturday 16th Oct. 2010.The team of six scouts led by team captain Vinny Varley was,Ciaran Costello,Alan Haverty,Cormac Sugrue,Paul O’Sullivan, and Michael Donnelly. This is great achievement to Friday night section and a first in Malahide to have won twice in a row.

Last minute brush up on ropework
The scouts on the team had been working very hard during the year in preparing for the competition.Several of the team had completed their Intermediate Oars Charge Certificate course earlier in the year.Further boat training was ongoing and credit must go to team captain Vinny Varley for motivating his team.Malahide Sea Scout Group can take great pride in their achievement.
Congratulations also 2nd place Dollymount Sea Scouts,3rd place Howth Sea Scouts and the other Malahide teams who were represented on the day
